Trial and licences

Verbiqo starts with a 30-day trial on each computer. There is no account to create. After the trial, a licence file keeps the same app working.

The trial

  • The trial starts the first time you open Verbiqo and lasts 30 days on that computer.
  • The Verbiqo menu bar icon shows how long is left.
  • Reinstalling does not restart it.

Activate a licence

  1. Get your licence file

After you buy a licence, you receive a file ending in .verbiqo-license. Request a licence.

  2. Import it

Open Settings, the Licence tab, press Import Licence… and choose the file.

  3. Let it activate

Verbiqo activates the licence online, which takes a moment. The Licence tab then shows the edition and who it is licensed to.

In an organization, your administrator may deploy the licence for you. Settings › Licence then says Managed by your administrator, and there is nothing to import. For administrators

Staying licensed

An activated licence checks in quietly once a day. If your computer is offline, nothing changes: Verbiqo only needs to reach verbiqo.app at least once every 37 days.

Move to another computer

A licence covers a set number of computers.

  1. Free the old computer

If Settings › Licence says Managed by your administrator, your organization deploys the licence: ask them instead.

On the computer you are leaving, open Settings and press Deactivate.

  2. Activate on the new one

Import the same licence file on the new computer.

When every place is in use

Verbiqo shows the computers holding them, least recently active first, each by its name on the licence, its device ID and the date it last checked in.

This computer’s name on the licence

With a licence key, each computer appears in the licence’s list of seats by a name, so whoever manages the licence can tell computers apart. It starts as your computer’s name. To change it, open Settings, the Licence tab, type a name in Name on licence (for example Finance laptop 3), and press Save Name; clear it to be listed by device ID only. It is sent to verbiqo.app with each daily check-in and seen only by whoever holds the licence key. If your organization sets it, it is shown and cannot be changed.

  • One no longer in use: a computer that has not checked in for 7 days can be freed from here. Choose it, and this computer takes its place.
  • All in use: nobody can take the place of a computer that is being used. Free it from that computer (Settings › Licence › Deactivate), or wait: Verbiqo says when the first can be freed. A computer that has not checked in for 37 days frees its place on its own.
  • Back after a long time away: if your place went to another computer, the Licence tab and the menu say Licence not renewed: all seats in use. Press Free a Seat… to choose one.

Computers without internet access

Organizations whose computers never reach the internet can have licences that work entirely offline.

  1. Copy each device ID

On each computer, open Settings, the Licence tab, and press Copy Device ID. The ID is a one-way code, not your hardware serial number.

  2. Send them to us

Email the IDs to hello@verbiqo.app or to your licence administrator.

  3. Import the licence

Import the licence file you receive on each computer, as above. It never needs to go online.
